Use your smartphone or tablet to see the stories of the Glamorgan Heritage Coast come to life with the second of three Augmented Reality apps.
Simply launch the app then point your device’s camera at the trigger point at Dunraven Bay to see the magnificent Dunraven Castle rise from its ruins, listen to an audio description then watch a video describing the history of the house and its inhabitants, then one telling the story of the notorious Wreckers of Dunraven.
There has been a stone dwelling on the site at Dunraven Bay since the 12th century. Many people have lived there over the centuries, each adding their own mark on its architecture and legends.
This app will give you an insight into how it changed over the centuries, who lived there and what eventually happened to it.
Look for the Glamorgan Heritage Coast beer mats in local pubs and use the app to hold the castle in the palm of your hand.
How to use the App:
• Follow the signs and find the trigger post towards the back of the castle ruins on the hill above the car park at Dunraven Bay.
• Launch the app and point it at the trigger image.
• Watch the castle appear on the landscape and listen to the audio description.
• Click on the video buttons to find out more about the house’s history and its notorious inhabitants.
